Thai Basil Sesame Cashew Chicken

  1. Begin by heating 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat, cashews, 1 tablespoon honey, chili powder, and tumeric. Cook until lightly toasted and caramlized. Remove from pan and place on parchment paper.


2. In a medium bowl, toss together the chicken, cornstarch and pepper.



3. To make the sauce, combine the remaining 1/4 cup honey, soy sauce, fish sauce (optional), chili paste, ketchup and sesame seeds.


4. Wipe the skillet clean. Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add in chicken and cook until golden brown. You can add in peppers if you choose.

Pour in the sauce and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook until the sauce coats the chicken.


5. Remove from heat and stir in the basil. Serve chicken and sauce over rice. Top with cashews and additional basil.

1/2 TSP Tumeric

1 Pound Chicken Breast (cut up)

Black Pepper

1/2 Cup Soy Sauce

1/ TBSP Fish Sauce

1-2 TBSP Chili Paste

2 TBSP Ketchup

2 TBSP Sesame Seeds

Basil
